Who We Are
We are Brigidine Sisters, a small, diverse and prophetic group of women, inspired by the person of Jesus and the vision of Brigid of Kildare and Bishop Daniel Delany. There is mystery at the heart of what holds us together, expressed in shared faith, symbols, stories and experiences. We engage with the issues of our time, stand in solidarity with the oppressed and seek to build a more inclusive community.
We are a restoration of the ancient fifth century Order of St. Brigid of Kildare. We were established by Bishop Daniel Delany in Tullow, Co. Carlow, Ireland on February 1st, St. Brigid’s Day, 1807.
