Season of Creation – Meditation Series (Part 1)
Solas Bhride Centre Solas Bhride Centre & Hermitages, Tully Road,, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, IrelandThursday, September 14th Season of Creation Meditation Series “Let justice and peace flow…” “We need to move from a spirituality of alienation from the natural world to a spirituality of intimacy with the natural world.” Thomas Berry Suggested donation: €5.00 (to support the work of the Centre) In person and online event.. We invite you to join us for the first Mediation during the Season of Creation. The theme for the 2023 Season of Creation is inspired by the words from the Prophet Amos: “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” Amos 5: 24. The invitation is to join the river of justice and peace. St. Brigid, a woman of justice and peace, is renowned for her closeness to nature and her affinity with animals. We can draw inspiration from her and our Celtic ancestors and hold in reverence and respect all creation. There is an urgency for all of us to make visible peace with Earth and on Earth, while at the same time, justice calls us to repentance and a change of attitude and actions. How can we contribute to the flow of the mighty river of justice and peace in this Season of Creation? What can we do to heal our common home so that it can once again teem with life? First, let us join the mighty river by transforming our hearts. This is essential for any other transformation to occur. Transforming our hearts could lead to transforming our lifestyles, and the public policies ruling our societies. Our individual actions during the Season of Creation are important. “You cannot go through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” Jane Goodall

Season of Creation – Meditation Series (Part 2)
Solas Bhride Centre Solas Bhride Centre & Hermitages, Tully Road,, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, IrelandThursday, September 21st Meditation during Season of Creation The divine communicates to us primarily through the language of the natural world. Not to hear the natural world is not to hear the divine. Thomas Berry Suggested donation: €5.00 (to support the work of the Centre) In person and online event.. We invite you to join us for the second Mediation during the Season of Creation. First, let us join the mighty river by transforming our hearts. This is essential for any other transformation to occur. Transforming our hearts could lead to transforming our lifestyles, and the public policies ruling our societies. “If we approach nature and the environment without this openness to awe and wonder, if we no longer speak the language of fraternity and beauty in our relationship with the world, our attitude will be that of masters, consumers, ruthless exploiters, unable to set limits on our immediate needs. By contrast, if we feel intimately united with all that exists, then sobriety and care will well up spontaneously.” ― Pope Francis, ENCYCLICAL LETTER LAUDATO SI' ON CARE FOR OUR COMMON HOME Our individual actions during the Season of Creation are important. Celebrating creation, participating in cleanups, planting trees and reducing our carbon footprint are some of the immediate actions we can take.
Culture Night: Celebrating the Autumn Equinox, a time of Balance
Solas Bhride Centre Solas Bhride Centre & Hermitages, Tully Road,, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, IrelandSeptember 22nd Culture Night: Celebrating the Autumn Equinox, a time of Balance Winter is an etching, Spring a watercolour, Summer an oil painting, and Autumn a mosaic of them all.” – Stanley Horowitz Admission free: The Autumn Equinox heralds a season filled with change, celebrates the harvest and ushers in the brilliant beauty of letting go. Our Celtic ancestors being an agricultural people were very attuned to the rhythm of the seasons. They marked the Autumnal equinox as a turning point in the year and there are many sacred sites in Ireland that were built in alignment with the rising and setting sun at equinox times. During our Autumn Equinox celebration we will rejoice and give thanks for the fruits and crops of the earth which sustains all life. We will reflect on legends of St. Brigid and the challenge they pose for us re issues of ownership of the fruits of the earth, food shortage and food distribution, poverty, climate change and displacement. We will celebrate with music, poetry and ritual.
Season of Creation – Meditation Series (Part 3)
Solas Bhride Centre Solas Bhride Centre & Hermitages, Tully Road,, Kildare Town, Co. Kildare, IrelandThursday, September 28th Meditation during the Season of Creation The natural world is the larger sacred community to which we belong. To be alienated from this community is to become destitute in all that makes us human. To damage this community is to diminish our own existence. Thomas Berry Suggested donation: €5.00 (to support the work of the Centre) In person and online event.. We invite you to join us for the third Mediation when we reflect together on the theme. The theme for the 2023 Season of Creation is inspired by the words from the Prophet Amos: “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” Amos 5: 24. We would seek consent, rather than taking what does not belong to us. We would not work to destroy that which we don’t understand. Without the sacred, humanity perishes.” Ruth H Hopkins, Great Sioux Nation member. “The price of inaction is far greater than the cost of making a mistake.” ― Meister Eckhart
