The invitation of Advent is to “re-pent” but some would maintain the actual Greek translation is to “re-think”. The discoveries of science today are astounding and provide us with a new understanding of creation. We need to re-think our images of God to realizing that our expanding cosmos is infused and alive with divinity and has been from the beginning.

 “Science teaches us that everything that ever was and that will ever be, was contained in that fireball which burst into existence so splendidly and so mysteriously some 13.8 billion years ago. The origin of all things from one source. A source whose existence itself is inexplicable, shrouded in a mystery that the human has not yet been able to penetrate. A source that is becoming physically more expressed as time passes, making explicit that which has been implicit since the beginning.”
