“We need to strengthen the conviction that we are one single human family. We are faced not with two separate crises, one environmental and the other social, but rather with one complex crisis which is both social and environmental.”
Laudato Si.
The purpose of Earth Day, celebrated each year on April 22nd, is to raise awareness and encourage communities and nations around the world to take action on critically important environmental issues. The theme for Earth Day 2025 is “Our Power, Our Planet.” It is a call to unite behind renewable energy.
On the evening, there will be a short presentation on Solas Bhride as an ecological building, and the plans to install solar panels followed by a contemplative walk in the environs of the Centre.
“The divine and the human meet in the slightest detail in the seamless garment of God’s creation, in the last speck of dust of our planet.”
(Laudato Si’, 9).
