Celebrating Culture Night and the Autumn Equinox. Our Celtic ancestors, being an agricultural people, were very attuned to the rhythm of the seasons. In our celebration this evening we will give thanks for the abundance of autumn and honour the wisdom of our ancestors and our culture and celebrate with music, poetry and ritual.
The Autumn invites us to ground ourselves in a sense of balance as we turn to face a season filled with change and letting go.
Our Celtic ancestors being an agricultural people were very attuned to the rhythm of the seasons. They marked the Autumnal Equinox as a turning point in the year and they constructed many sacred sites in alignment with the rising and setting of the sun at equinox times.
In our Autumn celebration we will give thanks for the harvest and prepare ourselves for the brilliant beauty of letting go.
We will reflect on legends of St. Brigid and the challenge they pose for us regarding issues of seed ownership/sovereignty, food shortage and food distribution, poverty, climate change and displacement.
We will honour the wisdom of our ancestors and our culture and celebrate with music, poetry and ritual.
These reflection evenings are free and open to all. For those who wish to contribute to helping Solas Bhride continue our mission please donate below.
