Solas Bhride Centre is delighted to host 'The Book of Kildare: The Brigid Pages' by Josephine Hardiman, an Art Exhibition featuring Brigid, in original Celtic calligraphy and Illumination.

Josephine Hardiman is an Artist and Calligrapher from Co. Kildare. In 2016 at Kildare’s Medieval Festival in Saint Brigid’s Cathedral, she demonstrated and illustrated some text on Brigid from the Ancient Manuscript 'The Book of Lismore'. The story of the long lost 'Book of Kildare' captured her imagination and inspired her to create a new, modern book for Kildare for the 21st Century.

The Book of Kildare, a beautiful body of artwork in Celtic Calligraphy and Illumination, records the Ancient Mythology of Ireland, the traditions and story of Brigid, as Goddess, Woman and Saint of Kildare, the wonderful rich Kildare Heritage, History, Archaeology and Landscape.

Throughout the month February 2023, the Brigid pages from The Book of Kildare will be exhibited at Solas Bhríde and the new, illuminated pages will be on display at Kildare Town Library.
