“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
St. Francis of Assisi
We invite you to join with us in the last of our meditation series during this Season of Creation.
To hope does not mean to remain still and silent but to actively strive for a new life to emerge in the midst of difficulties.
St. Brigid, had a lived relationship with earth and is an inspiration and guide to us today as we reflect on our relationship with Earth.
Thomas Berry describes the call to action with creation as “The Great Work – the work of ensuring a just, healthy, beautiful, and sustainably life-giving world for future generations of all species.”
Jesus endorsed the significance of small actions when he compared the Kingdom of God to a mustard seed when sown upon the ground.
“It is the smallest of all the seeds on earth; yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts forth large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.”
