Solas Bhride Centre & Hermitages is an initiative of the Brigidine Sisters. The Centre evolved from 25 years of Brigidine ministry in Kildare Town. The Brigidine Sisters came to Kildare 1992 with the intention of reconnecting with their Celtic Christian roots, and reclaiming St. Brigid of Kildare in a new way for a new millennium. A resurgence of interest in the life and legacy of St. Brigid worldwide and an increasing number of pilgrims and visitors coming to 14 Dara Park, home of the sisters, led to the dreaming, building and official opening of Solas Bhride Centre & Hermitages in 2015.
