Welcome to Solas Bhríde Centre and Hermitages.

Solas Bhride is a Christian Spirituality Centre which welcomes people of all faiths and of no faith. The Vision of the Centre is to unfold the legacy of St. Brigid and its relevance for our time.

Welcoming and leading those who come to Kildare on Pilgrimage continues to be the core ministry work of the Solas Bhride community. Pilgrims come from all parts of the world – individuals and groups from parishes, schools, universities, women’s groups, prisoners, ecumenical groups…

Due to the current global pandemic all events organised by Solas Bhride for Feile Bride 2021 will be delivered virtually.

Facilities

Solas Bhride Centre’s design is inspired by the rich setting of the site and by the evocative imagery of St. Brigid’s legacy and legends. The Centre is a uniquely designed ecological building in the shape of a St. Brigid’s cross with circular and semi-circular rooms nesting in the arms of the cross. Nature is interlaced around and through the building.
It has achieved national awards, including Green Building Award 2015.

The Solas Bhride Centre is situated in a natural landscape with a meditative garden, labyrinth and proposed cosmic walk.

The Centre’s facilities are available for renting to groups that are in keeping with the ethos of the Centre.

We have ample Parking facilities

The Centre is close to St. Brigid’s well and within walking distance of St. Brigid’s Cathedral, the original monastic site.  It is adjacent to the Irish National Stud, close to St. Brigid’s well and surrounded by the Curragh Plain. (Brigid’s Pastures)
